The Departed Realms is a dark fantasy world, inspired by the works of Hayao Miyazaki and Hidetaka Miyazaki. A thousand years have passed since the Days of Fire, when the Forged Gods wielding their arrows of poisonous light razed the world to ashes, and from those ashes the world was reborn anew–an age of peace. But that age is soon come to pass, as the world stands before the dawn of a new age. As once more the hearts of men burn as they seek out the still smoldering embers of that world before, to relight the flame of ambition anew.
That is where you come in my friends, for you play the heroes of our tales, caught between the turning of two ages. Will you usher in this new age, despite it uncertainties, or will you uphold the previous age, despite its flaws? Or, will you cast all aside to turn the great wheel of history your own. For great change is coming to this world, and you are its herald.
This project is still in the early-stages of development, and most likely will drastically change in some aspects, but these core ideals will remain.
